Hey everybody!
I have been trying to talk to some young people from the different countries we're planning to visit and the first up is Slovakia. This is what a young girl who works in the Callisto gym told me:
In Slovakia people tend to be healthy and active during the weekends. They go to the mountains to climb, to the gym and plays basketball very often.
During weekdays, after they work most people just go home to relax and spend time with friends and family. They are much more open and flexible when it comes to meeting people, they don’t plan a week in advance to meet like people in Sweden do.
When it comes to Slovakias future the youth don’t see to bright upon it. More and more tend to study languages since they want to leave Slovakia. The girl I’m interviewing tells me that ½ of her class isn’t living in Slovakia today.
Young people don’t trust the politicians and doesn’t see any future in Slovakia. People are trying to study very hard nowadays but it’s almost only the people who have contacts that get anywhere.
The introduction of Euro many sees as a good opportunity to start again for the country.
A exciting town recommended to me was Banska Bystrica, which has a broad mixture between new and old, a lot of beautiful nature and is listed on UNESCO world heritage.
I will try to continue getting some more information regarding our countries, Poland and Ukraine is next up, since we have reception staff from these countries.
